So next Saturday (Feb.4) I am going to try my first ever CrossFit class. What the heck is CrossFit you ask? Well its high-intensity strengthening workout plan that will literally kick your a**.

Our program delivers a fitness that is, by design, broad, general, and inclusive. Our specialty is not specializing. Combat, survival, many sports, and life reward this kind of fitness and, on average, punish the specialist.
The CrossFit program is designed for universal scalability making it the perfect application for any committed individual regardless of experience. We’ve used our same routines for elderly individuals with heart disease and cage fighters one month out from televised bouts. We scale load and intensity; we don’t change programs.” Stated on CrossFit’s website.
A general WOD (workout of the day) consists of a warm-up, followed by an adaptable workout (like any of these: burpees, ball slams, dead lifts, pull ups, etc. Maybe a 5K too.), and stretching. Then you go home. The workout can be from 20 minutes to an hour. And everyone works together and starts at the same time. Some will finish faster and some might be slower. The purpose to focus on how well you’re doing and being encouraged by stronger athletes to go to your max.
CrossFit is suitable for children, teens, athletes, overweight people, and those in-between. The main thing is its easy and hard enough for EVERYONE to do it. CrossFit is a total body workout and you will see your endurance build up.
I hope to see an improvement in my running. I need a lot of focus on strength training for my calf to heal 100%. Also I want a killer body, I mean who doesn’t? Needless to say I am pumped! (no pun intended)
